Part-time qualified caregiver required at John Black Memorial United Church
Job Description
We are looking for a qualified individual to provide primary care to infants and preschoolers for approximately two hours on Sunday mornings while their parents worship at John Black Memorial United Church. The individual will be assisted each week by a volunteer from the congregation. Hours will be 10 a.m. to noon and compensation will be a stipend commensurate with experience and current MCCA salary guidelines.
This is a three-month position, March through May 2012. At the end of this period, the position will be evaluated and possibly renewed in the fall.
Job Qualifications
Early Childhood Education diploma or certificate preferred
Child Care Assistant in ECE Training, or Child Care Assistant Certificate will be considered
CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Check
Experience: Experience an asset
Languages: Speak, read, write English
Work Setting: Family Room at John Black United Memorial Church; the church is on a major bus route
Duties: Engage children through age-appropriate Bible-based stories, songs and play; diaper and feed infants and toddlers; advise church care liaison on required supplies, equipment, programming needs and safety plans
Essential Skills: Understanding and respecting a faith stance; reading text; working with others, problem solving, decision making, job task planning and organizing; significant use of memory; strong oral communication
